Alison & Nat,
My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of loss. Rusty was a great friend and collaborator. The joy of sharing the stage with him is a gift I will always treasure. When I saw him a few weeks ago, I was inspired by his positive energy and unwillingness to "give up". He was still hearing songs in his head, still making plans, still living every day the best he could. Thank you for sharing him with me and so many others who were blessed to know him.

Dear Allison,
I just heard the sad news today. I am a friend and fan of Rusty's from Brown.Over the years I attended perhaps a dozen performances at The West Bank Cafe and most recently at Carolines. A consumate performer, it was Rusty's spirit, warmth, humor and unflappable energy that always drew a devoted group of us from Brown to cheer him on. He was just a wonderful soul and I will miss him. My warmest sympathies to you and your family. I would very much like to attend the memorial I understand is taking place next weekend to celebrate his life.
My warmest regards-
Leslie Engel

Dear Alison,
I can't tell you how sorry I was to hear about Rusty's passing. All my years in New York were made so much more creative and fun by my association with the West Bank. From my involvement with the Football Pool , Fantasy Baseball and the Czar of Roc and Roll, I always looked forward to Rusty's wonderful smile, great self deprecating sense of humor and marvelous talent.
My wife and children send there condolencences to you and Nat.
At least heaven has a decent musical director now.

Houston always was Clemens' most logical choice. He can stay home and follow his own program, remain in the same organization as his son, Class A third baseman Koby Clemens

Tiger Woods caught the gallery by surprise when he teed off for a practice round a half-hour late and on the other side of the golf course, a corridor of fans and onto the first tee at Winged Foot.

Dear Alison and Nat -
I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I am the same age as you, Nat, and I can't imagine what it would be like to lose my father. Although I didn't know him personally he seems like he was a great guy and will be sorely missed.

Although I never met Rusty, I know from many how talented he was; a sad loss not only to his lovely and talented wife Alison, son Nat and family, but to an entire theater and cabaret community.

I never dreamed I'd be saying farewell to you Rusty. None of us did. Thanks for creating this loving family that we're all so lucky to be a part of. Hundreds of us united in admiration and appreciation of you. What a beautiful legacy! Congratulations!!
Dear Alison and Nat, please take whatever comfort you can from this tremendous outpouring of love for Rusty. We all pray that when the blinding pain begins to lift, that you can take some strength from all of us who loved your husband and father.

Dear Alison,
It is with such a heavy heart that I send my condolences. Rusty was such a great guy and a wonderful talent. I knew he had been thru a bad time when he opened the show for MODERN MAN, and yet he was so funny, so on target, you'd never know it.
He will be greatly missed. My heart goes out to you.

Alison,
I am so sorry to hear of Rusty's passing. You have my deepest sympathy. Fortunately,I had an opportunity to witness and marvel at Rusty's talent a few days before he entered the hospital. In spite of his illness and weakness, Rusty made a surprise appearance at the EST's annual Christmas party. I can't tell you the pleasure and admiration I felt to see him hugging, laughing and greeting everyone with that warm, infectious smile of his. Then, after making the rounds, he, unexpectedly, with help, made his way to the piano, sat down and performed beautifully one of his tradmark satires which, as always, brought laughter and a few tears to the evening. That night, Rusty, forgetting himself, gave everyone in that room his own personal Christmas gift that we will always cherish and remember. Jim Murtaugh

Dear Alison,
I was so distressed to learn of your loss from Wendy's forwarding the web page. I have been able to hear something of you over the Natick grapevine over the years, but not for a few. He was clearly a wonderful person, and the lack of him must hurt terribly, no matter what time you had to prepare. I am really sorry.

Dear Alison -
I didn't know Rusty well while we were in school, even though we were in the same class, but over the years, I felt pride every time I saw his name and read of his accomplishments. His performance at our 25th reunion was one of the highlights of our trip. He was an interesting, talented guy! I'm sure that he will sorely missed by all of his friends and family.
Sincerely,
Steven Barker '73
